Vote YES to keep quality care close to home.
As our community grows, so do our healthcare needs. We know our region faces critical healthcare shortages and wait times for primary and specialty care appointments can be long. We’ve also seen a growing number of healthcare mergers leading to consolidated services and longer travel times for many services.
Proposition 1, on the August ballot, will renew voter support for our independent community hospital and ensure EvergreenHealth can expand services to meet the needs of our families close to home.
Proposition 1 means:
-
Reducing wait times and expanding access to care
Yes on Prop. 1 means more physicians and clinical staff and expanded access to primary, emergency, and specialty care — including maternity services and behavioral healthcare.
-
Keeping quality care close to home
Yes on Prop. 1 ensures EvergreenHealth stays independent, meaning our community will continue to receive some of the highest quality, safest care anywhere in the country close to home. Without Prop. 1 a merger with a larger medical organization may be unavoidable, meaning services and staff could be consolidated and local residents will likely have to travel to Seattle or other urban centers for many services.
-
Protecting local decision making
Voting Yes on Prop. 1 keeps EvergreenHealth independent with local decision-making. Without it, EvergreenHealth may need to merge with a larger hospital network, meaning less local input on decisions that affect our community.
-
Maintaining high quality care
EvergreenHealth is nationally recognized for its high quality care. It’s one of only 12 hospitals in the country to achieve five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, an ‘A’ hospital safety grade from the Leapfrog group, and be ranked a top 50 hospital by Healthgrades. Prop. 1 allows EvergreenHealth to make investments to maintain this high quality for our communities.

When our families need medical help – in an emergency, for regular check-ups or specialized care – we want to access high-quality care close to home. EvergreenHealth, our independent, community-owned public hospital, has been providing quality care for our communities for over 50 years.
Vote YES on EvergreenHealth’s Prop. 1 to expand access to healthcare here on the Eastside and protect our independent, locally-controlled community medical care.
